one of the positive things about this board is the ability to express opinions and feelings.have you ever felt guilty for doing or saying something because of witness ignorance?
i remember many years ago disfellowshipping a terminally ill older woman because she chose to live with her disfellowshipped "apostate" daughter who was caring for her.
this still haunts me and makes me realize the unbelievable power elders can have.
Isn't that what the August 8th Kingdom Ministry is discussing ? I though I saw a post about that?
How to deal with disfellowshipped and disassociated people..I know they were a lot different in the 80's.
Must be all this "New Light"...They don't want to have to build an "Old folks home" I think it is becoming a personal issue now! Heaven forbid if they had to spend any of that contribution money on the people! LOL

well folks: i had my first follow-up visit, and things are not as good as i was hoping.
essentially, using diet and exercise to try and reverse my clogged arteries is okay for 15 areas which are 50% or less clogged, by 2 of the points are 80% occluded ... and must be treated in a matter of months, or i face death inside a year ... so, i have some time, but not as i hoped.
the two bad occlusions art each at the intersections of main branches ... and either of them would likely kill me if they close up.. the doctor was impressed with my diet changes, lifestyle adjustments, and weight loss and level of recovery ... but the recovery is limited, in that i still have some strong angina with mild exercise, strongly suggesting my heart does not get enough blood when i exercise, and then when i eat a large meal, the stomach uses enough blood flow, that the heart gets starved and i go into serious angina ... soooo ... i am ordered to limit exercise and eat 6 to 8 tiny meals a day ... and i am even getting a handicap sign for my car ... yikes!
It sounds like he wants to open those arteries so the heart will have more blood.. If it doesn't parts of it can die! You don't want that!
My dad had problems also. My mom said she didn't want him to be operated on because she heard that most of the time they become clogged again in 5 years! Well he was a very heavy smoker and drinker...also never exercised. So as she suggested..he didn't have the operation. But he did have a heart attack years later. It left his heart to weak to have the operation then. Several years later..after my Mom died . He wanted to get his hip fixed so he could walk without pain. It was too late..his heart was too weak..6 months they gave him.He just gaveup and sure enough..7 months later he died. If he had that operation..(And quit smoking) he might be here today..you see he was only 67 when he died!
Morbid talk I know...I don't know your age..but go with your instinct..you can tell how you feel.Surgeries are also much easier today than they used to be. So many more are Non- invasive. I don't think I would relish the idea of having my chest cracked either...but if they could get to the problem easier that way..I would go for it..You won't even know what happened. Most complain more of the leg hurting where they take the piece of vein to do the bypass with than they do the chest!

today, i went to drop off some donated items at a christian thrift store.
(nw christian) before i went, i called them to ask what they would accept.
when i got there, the two that unload the free items that i was to donate hemmed and hawed and said, "well i don't know...." now, this wasn't junk, people.
No...I usually give all my stuff to my JW Mother in law. She doesnt reject anything! She said she knew some poor people where she lives! (JW'S) I figured..aw..they need clothes too! So I always gave them to her.

I found out she has ALL my stuff (I'm talking a lot of stuff here) stashed in her attic! She hasn't been giving any of it away...except to her JW daughter in NY. Who lives in a $250,000.00 house! And when she comes to visit she always visits "Moms Store" ..I always see her wearing things I gave her Mom for the"poor people".
Now I find out she is having a huge garage sale! And wants me to help her..I guess she doesn't remember where she got most of it! LOL
And she also loves to shop at all thrift stores..and goodwills and yard sales... It doesn't bother her conscience...and she isn't afraid the demons are in them! She has more clothes than she will ever wear in her lifetime! (She is 80 and very active!) LOL
Funny...all the JW's at the hall I went to NEVER went to a yard sale..might have a "Demon" in them .She thinks that is "Stupid!"
Maybe it's a territorial thing??? LOL
